Day three starts with Basket and FriarNurgle still underground near the border, the last two left on team green. Evil_Mech_Meru is already out; chat still shows "Evil_Mech_Meru was slain by Silverfish" from the day before. Basket digs straight up toward daylight. FriarNurgle has a different problem.
Stuck in the wall
"Wait a second, I can't dig." The border has moved over the tunnel, and the teammate inside it can't break or place a single block. "It moved way too fast." The edges of the screen are red, but nothing is taking any health away. "And I've locked myself in a spot so I can't go back." So the player can't move, can't dig, and isn't dying either.
Basket comes out onto a grassy plain under a mountain, and the striped wall of the border is right there across the slope.
Basket takes care of it
With no way out and no damage coming, Basket offers to settle it with a command from the server console. Chat posts "FriarNurgle fell out of the world" and then "[Server: Killed FriarNurgle]." thepigglesworth and Scoti_Garbidis both ask "what?" and Basket types "he was outside the border." FriarNurgle explains in chat: "soul crusher isn't doing damage so Basket took care of it." On voice, the takeaway is that the Soul Crusher needs fixing so it actually does damage. Then the usual follows, since every death moves the border: "Soul Crusher will wake in 2 minutes!"
Up top, Basket goes after food: a rabbit, then chickens and pigs by the water. In chat, nihontiger earns the DIAMONDS! achievement.
A team of one
On voice, the remaining teammate heads off "to the loser lounge" and wishes Basket luck. "All right everybody, it's just me and you. Everybody else on my team has died." Basket turns toward the middle of the map as chat posts "Soul Crusher is coming!" again. The player list tells the rest: AngryK9 is down to under two hearts, Basket is at nine after losing one earlier, and the teal team of Bakerbelle, Scoti_Garbidis and nihontiger is at full health.
Iron in the dark
It is getting toward sundown, so Basket digs in. A skeleton can be heard somewhere nearby. "Yeah, the skeleton kinda scares me." Two furnaces go down, the meat and iron go in, and out come iron pickaxes and an iron sword. "I do have enough to make a helmet." The diving helmet stays in the inventory for now. Next on the list: diamonds.
The mineshaft
Following the sound of a cave, Basket breaks into an old mineshaft full of wooden beams and cobwebs. "Oh a chest. Look at that." It is a minecart chest, and it holds melon seeds. Then: "Oh, a diamond! Nice." Just the one. There are spiders too. "That sounds like a lot of baby spiders." Basket risks some health for string anyway and comes away with two more, enough for a bow. Arrows need flint, so it is back to digging gravel with an iron shovel.
End of day three
The server posts "End of Day 3. Players remaining:" with eleven names, BasketMC among them. Basket is alive, the only one left on team green, and still underground digging gravel when the episode ends.
