Season 13 has a lot of guests. Basket runs the game and gives the short version of the rules: this one uses the Soul Crusher, so as people die there is a warning and then the border shrinks in. Otherwise it is regular UHC. Everyone lines up in a glass lobby, hits a button to get a random team, and walks onto that team's color.
Team orange
Basket lands on orange. The player list later shows the two teammates in orange: 8ong8ong and pikerize. One of them is glad to see it: "Back with Basket. Time to win again, Basket." Basket agrees. "Yep, time to win again." Then Basket de-ops, because the server output on screen is "obnoxious."
The three spawn in a swamp forest right next to the border. That is fine "as long as somebody doesn't die." They punch trees for apples and wood, chase pigs and cows, and argue over whether sugar cane is called "reeds."
A heal that never came
Chat has a problem. bjaydubya whispers to Basket that the start of the match gave no regen on hearts or food. Basket asks in chat, "BJ, did you get healed up at the start?" The answer: "nope" and "no food either." MomofMiners suggests Basket just give some food, "a potion maybe?" or a golden apple.
"I'm gonna do a little tech support, one second." A minute later chat shows bjaydubya: "yes! thank you." Scoti_Garbidis types "hacks." Basket apologizes to the team: "I apologize that you're stuck on my team and I'm doing tech support."
Down the ravine
The team finds a ravine with iron in it and pours water down the edge to climb down. It goes badly for one of them, who meets a skeleton and drops a heart and a half on the way. "Definitely do not recommend going in this ravine."
Food is covered. Between them they have plenty of beef, a little pork and five apples, three of them Basket's.
The first night underground
Night falls and the team digs in on the far side of the ravine and blocks up the entrance. They set up a small room with a crafting table, a furnace and a chest with some meat in it. One of them hits "a never-ending vein of coal." The plan is to dig a staircase toward the border, so they have somewhere to run when it closes in.
Basket smelts iron and crafts an iron pickaxe. Over voice the others call out lapis, then gold, then diamonds somewhere up a cave wall.
Lava, water and a bucket
The tunnels open into a cave full of lava and running water. Basket checks the player list. All 21 players are still in, most at full health, though erynfaith is down to two hearts.
Virii333 asks in chat if there is a day notifier, and Basket answers "yup." Basket crafts a bucket and scoops up water from the cave. The server posts "End of Day 1. Players remaining:" and lists all 21 names. Nobody has died yet. Basket is alive and underground with the orange team when the episode ends.
