The "Episode 8" card opens on Basket's inventory, and the End of Day 7 message lists 12 players still in. Before the first minute is out, chat shows "optimus1971 hit the ground too hard." There are no brackets around the name this time, so it is a real death, and Basket types "gg" with everyone else.
The horse
Epic_Swampert shows up on a horse right away, riding across the hills near orange team. "I really hate the horses in PvP," comes over voice, and the idea is to "get lava down near him, burn his horse." Later comes the summary: "It was nice that he ran up to my dirt pillar so I could hit him with my sword."
Back in the tunnels, Basket opens the anvil and works on iron armor. "We have no more gold apples," and the arrows are running low. At about five minutes, chat reports "SodaShaman was shot by nihontiger."
Orange team falls
Then the cave comes under attack. "We're being shot at at this entrance." "They're coming in." At about 9:36 chat shows "pikerize was slain by xmods13." Soon after: "8ong8ong tried to swim in lava to escape bjaydubya." Basket is the last of orange team. "Just me, guys."
Under the Night Vision label, Basket digs on alone while chat fills up. Jadelf slays bjaydubya, MomofMiners slays Jadelf, and then nihontiger slays MomofMiners and xmods13. A minute later, "ty750 was shot by Skeleton" and "Epic_Swampert was shot by nihontiger." That leaves two. "So it's me and nihontiger."
The hunt
It is night, so Basket heads up a snowy hill to look. "Oh, there's a name. I see him." The bow shots fall short ("I'm so bad with the bow"), so the plan changes to tunneling closer and getting into melee range. Epic_Swampert, now out, cheers in chat: "Go basket."
The End of Day 8 message makes it official: "Players remaining: nihontiger and BasketMC."
The last fight
Basket finds nihontiger standing by a pit in a grassy field and watches from behind a dirt wall with the bow out. Then the arrows are gone. "I'm out of arrows... he's still so many hearts." Basket goes in with the sword.
At about 20:44, chat reads "BasketMC was slain by nihontiger," and the "You died!" screen comes up. Basket finishes the season in second place.
Spectating
Basket's game mode switches, and Basket is now a spectator. The Tab list shows hearts next to only one name, nihontiger, the last player left in Season 13. Basket flies high over the map while players leave one by one, and everyone talks the match over. Asked about running out of arrows at the end, Basket explains: "I ran out of arrows... so I'll just attack him." There was also a sword: "this awesome sharpness three diamond sword I picked up." The answer from the other end: "Yeah, that was mine."
