Episode 2 opens on the same "GopherCraft UHC Season IV" title and the four team cards, then drops back underground where Episode 1 ended. A teammate comes down the staircase to hand Basket an iron chestplate, and the team pools its iron for picks.
The border moves in
While they mine, someone on the call spots the world border, and it is shrinking. "It is coming at me. It's coming this way." Their base is only a few dozen blocks from it, and nobody wants to end up "stuck inside a wall." A teammate warns Basket that it is "slowly creeping in on our territory."
So the plan changes. They cook the last of the iron, check that everyone has food (one of them is down to a single apple), and head toward spawn to dig in somewhere closer to the middle.
Across the desert
The rain stops as they come up. The border is right there behind them ("it's big and ugly"), and the way to spawn crosses a desert. They stop at a river to grab sugar cane, which they will need for an enchanting table later.
Nobody is short on wood: one player has 33 pieces and another has 62. Then someone spots pumpkins: "Yay, pumpkins! I can make golems!" Hunger is draining faster than the team expected, and they keep hoping for a village or a desert temple. No luck. After a birch forest, they reach a jungle, which at least means melons.
A hidden way in
They dig in at the edge of the jungle, where stone is close to the surface. The entrance is tucked out of sight. "Where's the door?" "Over and around. It's hidden." They agree to sneak while they dig when they can, so anyone running past up top is less likely to notice them. Sayulily's and FriarNurgle's nameplates show up in the tunnel as everyone files down.
Inside, a furnace and a crafting table go up, and a melon gets planted for food.
The first one out
Then chat reads "pikerize was blown up by Creeper." A row of "gg" follows from players on every team, BasketMC included. pikerize is the first player out of the season, and later the Tab list shows the name grayed out at the bottom.
Lava below
The team counts 14 iron between them, and Basket switches to an iron pickaxe. Deeper down they find redstone, a creeper in the tunnels, and finally lava. "Oh great, we can enter the Nether then." There is water nearby too, and the talk turns to building the portal right there.
A quick look at the Tab list shows BasketMC and FriarNurgle at full health and Sayulily close to it. The episode ends on another server message, "*** 40 Minutes ***", with the list of current players. Eleven names are left, and pikerize is not among them. Basket is alive, at full health and still underground.
