Episode 3 opens on the "GopherCraft UHC Season IV" title and the four team cards again, then cuts back to the caves under the jungle base. Basket starts in an iron chestplate with a stone sword and an iron pickaxe, and a teammate is busy making a pair of iron pants for everyone.
Pants for everyone
The caves around the base are crowded. A zombie, a skeleton and a spider all show up in the first minute, and a lava flow glows through a gap in the rock.
Chat has a line from pikerize, who went out in Episode 2, about waiting on everyone else. TChels answers "lol." A few minutes later chat shows "Gopherboy has just earned the achievement [Cow Tipper]."
A diamond by the water
The team splits up to explore. The talk is all about where the skeleton went and which way the zombies are coming from, and at one point someone reports "skeleton is dead." Then, next to the lava: "There's a diamond. A diamond. Just one."
More turns up as they keep going: gold, lapis, redstone and more iron. Someone warns about an Enderman nearby: "Don't look at its belly button."
Too many zombies
The cave keeps getting noisier. "I hear all the zombies in the world." A few hits land on Basket, the hearts drop a little, and the call becomes "I'm retreating. Running." The team decides it has woken up enough zombies in this cave and moves to the lava on the other side. Sayulily's nameplate shows "15 health" as the team regroups.
The iron keeps coming in, and boots follow the pants: "I also got shoes for everyone now." Then helmets. Basket's armor bar fills most of the way.
A portal they won't walk through
Now the Nether question. Someone points out that the Nether may already be explored, and that a portal on the other side could be trapped. So the plan is to build a portal, light it, and block it off on their side instead of going through. One idea is to carry ten buckets of lava to a spot under spawn and build the portal there. "You have to admit that the idea of a portable Nether portal sounds pretty cool."
Then a teammate finds obsidian already sitting at the bottom of a hole, and Basket now carries a diamond pickaxe. That changes the plan. Instead of hauling lava, they pour water over it and mine the obsidian directly. The lava buckets can stay "for defense. And cooking."
The count climbs: "We have six so far." Another lava pool turns up close by, and they agree it should be enough for ten. They also notice they still have no bow, only a few arrows.
Sixty minutes
The episode ends on a server message: "[GopherCraft UHC Season 4] *** 60 Minutes ***", followed by the list of current players: Gopherboy, PsychoSFK, Th3pooka, FriarNurgle, BasketMC, Sayulily, TopStiGearGaming, TChels, Steel_Douglas, Scoti_Garbidis and Virii333. Eleven are left, the same eleven as at 40 minutes. Basket is alive and still underground, a little short of full health, with a diamond pickaxe in hand and the obsidian for the portal still being mined.
