Episode 5 starts at first light on top of the tall building where Episode 4 ended. The video opens on the same "GopherCraft UHC Season 5" title and six team cards, with no episode number. Basket, pikerize and xzosimusx are still together as Rooftop Raiders, and the server's "80 Minutes" roll call lists fifteen players.
Dawn on the roof
The Tab list shows how rough the night was for everyone else. TopStiGearGaming is down to half a heart, Scoti_Garbidis to one and lostinthefort to three. BasketMC and pikerize are full. Sayulily, Steel_Douglas and technascribe are grayed out. "Say goodbye to top," someone says as the sun comes up.
The team decides to stay put. It is still raining, and nobody wants to give up the spot they worked so hard to reach. They talk about lighting up the roof so mobs stop spawning on it, blocking the stairs, and cutting a grid of holes in the roof to look down through. A chest inside a big air conditioning unit turns out to be empty. The building has two elevator shafts and two stairwells, so someone goes looking for the second stairwell to block it off.
Three gone in a minute
About six minutes in, chat fills up fast. "FriarNurgle was slain by momofminers." Then "PsychoSFK fell from a high place," and right after it "lostinthefort was slain by rePeteD." A row of "gg" lines follows, one of them from BasketMC.
From up high the team can only guess at the fight. One of them notices players healing without any absorption hearts showing and wonders if someone has healing potions, but nobody has seen a melon. Another spots a Nether portal far below. "Someone did build another portal," a teammate says.
Trees for apples
The team is low on two things: apples and gold. So they plant saplings in patches of dirt on the roof and hope for apples later. The rain stops. Someone builds a lookout to snipe from and goes for ladders so mobs cannot climb it, still holding on to a bucket of lava "to dump on someone."
Into the top floor
With the daylight left, they try to loot the floor below. Instead of the stairs, they go in through a hole in the roof and ride water down. A chest right there holds two gold ingots, and a teammate later points out there was an apple in it too. Then the sun starts to set. "Let's just live in the walls here for a night," someone says.
That does not go well. The rooms are full of creepers, zombies and skeletons, and someone gets shot. "This is not a good idea," a teammate says, and they back out to their entrance. While they scramble, chat reports "SodaShaman was slain by rePeteD." The chat history also shows "Virii333 was slain by Zombie" and "PsychoSFK left the game."
Names below
Night on the roof is slow. There are so many mobs around the building that the game stutters, and the team torches the roof while staying away from the edges. They find the elevator shaft, so there is now a way down if they need it.
Then two names show up on the street below. A teammate reads them as the green team. They are not sneaking, so the team guesses they do not know anyone is up here. The plan is to wait until they get close and pour lava down the stairwell they are climbing. One of the team runs across the roof to do it.
The episode cuts out before the lava lands. Just before the end, the "100 Minutes" roll call lists ten players: pikerize, xzosimusx, momofminers, BasketMC, TopStiGearGaming, rePeteD, Scoti_Garbidis, Moonwillow92, Th3pooka and Gopherboy. Basket is alive on the roof.
