Episode 3 of Inversion UHC Season 1 opens on the same season card and the five team cards, then drops back into the mineshaft by Team Booger's furnaces. The chat reads "40 Minutes Elapsed!" When Basket opens the player list, BasketMC sits at 17, while EdgeVenom is down to 2 and Voridy and Gopherboy are both at 4. In chat JohnnyPlaysMC writes, "We loved you EdgeVenom." EdgeVenom answers, "love u too lol."
Up the ladder
The team needs wood for sticks, so it is back up the ladder shaft to the surface. Three minutes in, the chat reads "Voridy was slain by Spider." A row of "gg" follows, Voridy types "bye," and leaves the game. Right after, pink516 writes, "Silently awaiting edge venoms death lol." EdgeVenom: "hey!" pink516: "All in good fun."
Across the snow
Up top it is snow in every direction. Desert temples come up as a goal: "desert temples give us lots of gold," and TNT too. The team spreads out, and soon someone is asking, "Wait, which way did you guys go?" Then the chat reads "Steel_Douglas was slain by Zombie." After the gg's, BasketMC adds, "chuck has fallen." Scoti_Garbidis checks in: "gopherboy? 1/2 heart." Gopherboy: "YEah."
The wall
"How big is this winter? This is ridiculous." The snow finally gives way to sand, and a tall dark wall rises out of the desert. "Oh, it's the wall." It is the bedrock border around the edge of the map. From the corner, the plan is to "head north."
Dropping like flies
A little over eight minutes in: "PsychoSFK was slain by Cave Spider." That is two of Team Psycho Venom gone. imGiftedx writes, "droppin like flies." EdgeVenom: "IM ALL ALONE." Gopherboy, the last one left on Team Yellow Creeper, writes, "I'm the only living boy in new york." On the ground there are signs of other players. "There's a broken tree right here, so someone's been here." JohnnyPlaysMC has drifted far off and has to find a way back. By nightfall JohnnyPlaysMC is back with Basket at a lake, where furnaces and a crafting table go up on the shore. An apple turns up, the one ingredient a golden apple needs besides gold: "I got an apple."
A hole for the night
With night on them, the plan is simple: "dig down." The hole gets a furnace and, somehow, two crafting tables. "Why do we have two crafting tables?" Digging turns up gravel, and gravel means flint. "If we get flint we can always make..." Someone makes a shovel for it. Then Basket's hearts drop from 17 to 16, and the reason comes over voice: "I took half a heart... I was doing gravel and apparently I placed it on top of my head." There is also a wish that the server had colored the name labels by team, "so you know what teams are which."
Down to a ravine
In the chat, EdgeVenom writes, "just put me out of my misery at this point." The team keeps digging down. One cave is "a bust." The iron count is eight, enough for a bucket or two. Then there is another mineshaft, and a surprise: "I didn't know it was a ravine."
The chat reads "60 Minutes Elapsed!" as Mitzify, in iron armor at 13 of 20 HP, comes through the tunnel. Basket ends the episode alive at 16 health, underground with both teammates. The end card follows, with nothing after it.
