Episode 8 of Inversion UHC Season 1 opens on the team cards, then picks up at the bottom of the shaft Basket dug at the end of the last episode. The chat still shows "140 Minutes Elapsed!" Basket has four and a half hearts. The plan hasn't changed: find gold. "We need to find gold here."
Out by the wall
Basket climbs back up into daylight on the sand, right next to the bedrock wall, and heads off through a forest toward a jungle. "I think we should, I guess, maybe not hug the side anymore." There's a cave with cobblestone below it, and some worry that it could be a trap. "That would be an exciting way to die."
Mitzify at 1 HP
The cave is not kind to Mitzify. When Mitzify catches up in the tunnels, the nameplate reads 1 / 20 HP. On the call: "I'm at half a heart."
EdgeVenom is having a bad day too. "ARE U KIDDING ME?" in the chat is followed by "never again will i use a horse." On the call, a quick check of the health numbers: "Edge was at 11, now he's at 4."
A death in the wall
EdgeVenom keeps asking for a fight: "if u wanna fight, come to spawn," then "1 V 1." Basket and Mitzify keep digging instead. Then the chat reads "Team 1: imGiftedx suffocated in a wall." Mitzify, BasketMC and EdgeVenom type gg, and imGiftedx leaves the game. EdgeVenom asks Scoti "how ya feelin dude?" The answer: "freakin out," then "but i got good gear."
Gold in the cave
Deep in the caves Basket finds a lava pool, part of it already obsidian, with gold ore in the wall above it. "I found something shiny and yellow." Basket pours water to cover the lava and mines the gold, then finds more. "Something else that's gold and shiny."
Smelting
Basket sets up a furnace in a small dirt room and starts smelting. The plan is to trade for gold and an apple: "I can give you stuff for gold and apple." Someone almost crafts the wrong thing. "Oh my god, I almost made myself gold pants."
Three left
Then the chat reads "Team 1: Scoti_Garbidis was slain by Zombie." Mitzify, BasketMC and EdgeVenom type gg, and Scoti_Garbidis leaves the game. On the call: "You really left just me and Edge Venom. Well, me and Basket, and Edge Venom." EdgeVenom has been waiting at spawn.
The chat reads "160 Minutes Elapsed!" and the gold count is "twelve gold." Basket is alive at four and a half hearts, back at the furnace, when the episode wraps with a last call: "We gotta kill Edge!" Nothing follows the end card.
