Episode 4 opens deep underground, next to the lava pool where Episode 3 ended. Basket now carries a lava bucket, and Jadelf is close by. Both are still in the match, and ten players are left.
Talking to diamonds
Chat starts on MomofMiners, still without a partner after bjaydubya's death. "i guess I'll just have to talk to these diamonds I found :(" bjaydubya, who can still type in chat, suggests, "name them scoti and klaus." MomofMiners goes further: "I shall name them scoti and klaus and final and nihon." thepigglesworth offers, "i'll trade you a record for them :P"
Meanwhile Jadelf walks the tunnels with a diamond pickaxe in hand.
Two more out
Basket has the furnaces going again, iron in and ingots out, when chat reads "Tavinnea was slain by Enderman." MomofMiners writes "noooooo," thepigglesworth writes "omg," and Basket, Jadelf and Bakerbelle answer with "gg." Tavinnea's own reply is a single "whelp." The map follows with "Soul Crusher will wake in 2 minutes!"
A little over two minutes later a second death line appears: "pikerize was slain by Silverfish." Basket types "gg :o." Then "Soul Crusher is coming!" and the border shrinks 150 blocks over 5 minutes. MomofMiners sums it up: "this is gonna be a quick game."
Pigs on the hill
The team digs a staircase up and comes out in a swamp in daylight. Up on a nearby hill there are pigs, and Basket goes after them. They flash red, fall over, and leave raw porkchops in the grass behind them.
Chat brings another "Soul Crusher will wake in 2 minutes!" The sun goes down over the swamp, and right on time the border starts closing in again, another 150 blocks.
Back underground
With night coming, the team heads back into the ground, and Basket digs a long staircase down through dirt, gravel and stone.
Partway down, Basket checks the Tab list. Eight players still have health: Finalflame, nihontiger, BasketMC, Jadelf, RandomBacon74, Bakerbelle, thepigglesworth and MomofMiners. RandomBacon74 is down to half a heart. Scoti_Garbidis, pikerize, Klaus_Endomere, Tavinnea and bjaydubya show none.
MomofMiners asks the server, "so what is the compass for again?" Basket answers in chat: "points to spawn."
Lava below
The digging finally opens onto lava, a small orange pocket at the bottom of the shaft, with Jadelf nearby.
For the last two minutes Basket stays put in a small stone hollow, looking up at the ceiling while achievement lines scroll through chat. The episode ends with Basket and Jadelf both alive, underground, with eight players left in the match.
