Episode 5 picks up underground, where Episode 4 left Basket and Jadelf near the lava. Both are still in the match, eight players have health, and the title card says what this one is about: enchanting.
Gold and a lava lake
The furnaces are still cooking iron and gold. Once the ingots come out, Basket goes to the crafting table and makes a golden apple. Chat is quiet. MomofMiners asks, "so how's everyone's day going?" and a little later a yellow line reads "pikerize left the game."
Then the tunnel opens onto a wide lake of lava. Basket mines along its edge, through stone and redstone, and a few minutes later chat posts that BasketMC has earned the DIAMONDS! achievement.
A table and an anvil
Back by the furnaces, an enchanting table goes down, with an anvil beside it. Basket has a stack of lapis lazuli to feed it. First comes a new diamond sword. At the anvil Basket renames it "nihon slayer" and adds a book, and the tooltip reads Sharpness II. nihontiger is one of the eight still in the match.
The iron armor goes through the table next. The chestplate ends up with Protection II, the leggings get Projectile Protection, and the table offers Feather Falling for the boots. RandomBacon74 writes, "lookit you go with the achievements!" and MomofMiners answers, "XD."
Partway through, Basket holds the Tab list open over the enchanting table. Eight players have health: Finalflame, nihontiger, BasketMC, Jadelf, RandomBacon74, Bakerbelle, thepigglesworth and MomofMiners. RandomBacon74 is still down to half a heart. Scoti_Garbidis, Klaus_Endomere, Tavinnea and bjaydubya are grayed out.
Diamond leggings and shields
There are diamonds to spare now, and Jadelf turns up in a pair of diamond leggings. Basket then lays oak planks and an iron ingot on the crafting grid and gets a shield, and from then on carries it in the off hand.
"I think I'm alone now"
Over at the lava, part of the pool has turned to black obsidian where water reached it. A player with a shield stands out on it while chat fills with MomofMiners: "I think I'm alone now," then "There doesn't seem to be anyone around," then "The beating of our hearts is the only sound."
"whoever can name that tune will get a coookie," MomofMiners adds. RandomBacon74 asks, "sure that's not someone mining right above you?" thepigglesworth names the song, and MomofMiners replies, "DING DING DING" and "WE HAVE A WINNER CHICKEN DINNER." thepigglesworth asks for a "diamond cookie please." MomofMiners: "those are bad for ur teeth." thepigglesworth: "pigs have strong teeth."
Endermen in the dark
With the gear done, Basket heads off down new tunnels with an enchanted iron pickaxe, past running water and more redstone. Near the end, a cave ahead holds endermen, their long black legs standing in a cloud of purple specks. Basket has a water bucket out. Water spreads across the floor, one enderman flashes red, and soon only purple particles are left where they stood.
No one dies in this episode. It ends with Basket still in the match, shield in hand, exploring a stone cave lit by a couple of torches, with a small pool of lava off to one side.
