Episode 8 starts in the same thunderstorm that ended Episode 7. Basket, Scoti_Garbidis and PsychoSFK are crossing a grassy plain at night with rain pouring down, trying to stay inside the shrinking border. "We want to be within 200." Creepers, spiders and zombies come at them from every side.
A building by the dark forest
Someone spots a structure on a rise above the dark forest, with two players up there. An arrow flies their way, and arrows come back. "They're inside of a building. I just gave away our location." The team holds off. "I'd say don't shoot until we're ready to go."
There is talk of TNT, and of tunneling under the forest to come up on the far side. One of them doesn't think that's in the spirit of the game. The reply: "I don't think a fortification's the spirit of the game."
Perma day, and still raining
Chat turns into a vote: kanivatimber asks for "perma day," and MNSweet and dolinmyster say yes. CaptainPhresh points out the catch: "./toggledownfall maybe? infinite daytime is useless because of rain." Sannie6 answers "yes please," and dolinmyster says "that would be cheating."
Down on the plain, the three keep fighting skeletons, spiders and creepers in the dark. A little house with a chest turns up, and nobody wants to go near it. "It's probably a trap." The mood sinks. "Right now we're just wasting time and not being very competitive."
Steak and a creeper
The storm finally clears and the sun comes out. Food is short. "I'm down to my last steak." A furnace goes down in the grass and the beef they gathered goes in to cook.
Chat reports "sneegsnag was blown up by Creeper," and a row of "gg" follows, BasketMC and Scoti_Garbidis among them. Then sneegsnag explains: "I WAS TRYING TO TRAP IT" and "AND IT AGRO'D ON SANNIE AND KILLED ME xD."
The lava tower
The team sneaks into the forest. Two players stand on top of the trees with their backs turned. Then the fortification comes into view: a stone tower with lava poured down below it. "Lava towers are for losers."
Basket draws the bow and starts shooting. The first arrows miss. Then a shout goes up: "Oh, I hit one! I hit him off!"
Strength potions in the trees
Two players come at them through the trees. "Two of them! The potions!" Someone says the attackers have strength potions on. Chat posts "Scoti_Garbidis was slain by Sannie6." A few seconds later come two more lines: "kanivatimber was slain by PsychoSFK" and "Sannie6 was slain by PsychoSFK." Chat fills with "GG."
Scoti_Garbidis is out of the match. Basket and PsychoSFK are still in.
The ground is covered in dropped gear. One of them eats a golden apple to heal, and Basket picks through the pile and comes away with a Potion of Strength and a Splash Potion of Swiftness. Chat shows sneegsnag leaving the game, and AngryK9 posts "160 MINUTE MARK." The episode ends with Basket and PsychoSFK alive in the forest, standing over the loot.
