Last time Basket cleared the corner at the next intersection for a bookstore. It's a library now. "I was debating between a library and a bookstore. It's going to be a library." The plan is two stories of books, stairs down to the ground floor, and a secret door from there into a lower room where the nether portal will move. The "Dope Beats" half of the title is the music playing on the stream.
Starting on the second floor
This one gets built in a different order. Instead of starting at the ground, Basket lays out the second floor first in spruce, lined up with the road, and plans to cut the shape down from there. The corners step in, and the pillars get counted out in fives. Torches go underneath so nothing spawns.
The library isn't evil, Basket explains. "It's just a regular library, and there's a secret door that goes into a smallish evil area." That's where the portal goes, "because in a medieval town they didn't really have portals into hell usually." There might be librarians, maybe "an evil cleric," and maybe iron golems guarding the portal. Zombie pigmen roaming the library are out. "They're kind of noisy."
Windows, a balcony and dirt books
The walls go up in bone blocks. The side facing the main street gets big windows. The sides that will have buildings next to them get small ones set up high, with bookshelves underneath, so light still gets in. The side looking out over the water gets a balcony with doors onto it.
There are no books yet, so dirt stands in for them. "Imagine these are nice books." Basket runs out of dirt doing it. Two-wide stairs with a railing will lead down to the ground floor. No roof yet, in case the building gets taller.
Keeping the rain out
Downstairs, Basket digs out the ground floor and floors it. The entrance sits one block above the street, so rainwater runs past the doors and not inside. "We wouldn't want a bunch of water in the library." The upper floor hangs out over the street, so the road stays usable underneath. A walk-out patio comes up and doesn't get decided.
The first floor felt cramped, so Basket redoes it. The entry stays raised, and the floor steps down once you're inside, which leaves more wall for books. The ground floor will be mostly walls of books, with a reception desk by the door. Down here the pillars go every four blocks, which leaves one corner with three.
The secret door corner
The bottom of the stairs is where the secret door will go. The idea is a button hidden on a bookshelf (a viewer suggests making it wooden), and pistons that pull the wall back for a little while and then close it. Since it sits in a corner, Basket figures it doesn't need anything fancy: "I just need two pistons here that will pull it back." Basket gets a button out to mark the spot before the stream ends, so it doesn't get forgotten. Basket doesn't want the door too hidden, either, so people coming back from the nether can still find their way out.
Torches go down before the stream ends, so the library doesn't become "creeper central," and Basket sleeps through the night. The room below the stairs is left for later. The video ends on the credits, with no gameplay after them.
