Last time the chest ring got the start of its glass cover and some of its water drained out. Now it's time for the redstone. Basket says johnfal_92 finished more of the ring off camera, "because John's super cool like that," so today is about the sorting itself.
The sticky note
Before placing anything, Basket makes a list. Iron is the big one. The mob farms add arrows, bones, rotten flesh, string and gunpowder. Slime and sugar cane get ticks too, since farms for both are planned. A viewer confirms spider eyes only drop when a player does the killing, so they can go in miscellaneous.
The blocks get grouped: stone, cobblestone, the three "ites" together, gravel with dirt, and sand with sandstone. A viewer suggests a section for an AFK fishing farm, and Basket likes it.
The filters won't go in yet. The server isn't on 1.12, and in 1.11 an anvil renames only one item per level. "Once 1.12 comes out, you can rename a whole stack."
Comparators for looks?
Basket asks chat whether to run comparators along the whole line, even where nothing gets compared, just for looks. Chat says no, and not the redstone either. Basket starts pulling the extra parts out, then realizes this section really does sort several things and puts it all back. "My bad."
Meanwhile johnfal_92 is on the server, and Basket asks for regeneration on the beacon instead of haste. "got it, regen," comes back in chat.
A torch in the wrong place
Then Basket finds a problem. The torch that stops one filter hopper also powers the block next to it. That locks the hopper that bridges into the next column, so the overflow chests would only fill when the neighbor's sorter fires. Basket drops in a pile of torches to test it, and sure enough they sit stuck in that neighboring hopper.
Basket hops into voice chat with johnfal_92 to talk it through. The fix: at the seams, no torches on either side. Columns get grouped in twos and threes, and in a three, the sorter sits on the last column before the group ends so it fills all three. "Okay, cool. I'm glad we solved that."
Around the ring
The rest of the stream is wiring. Iron will get ten columns, which comes to 40 chests. "It is an iron farm." For each sorter it's a hopper down, a hopper over, one pointing into the wall, a torch, repeaters, blocks on top, comparators and dust. Furnaces go on the hoppers to cut lag, and Basket runs out and crafts more. Laying hoppers pushes out the leftover water as Basket goes.
It gets faster as it goes. "We're kind of getting the hang of it, doing a little bit faster." Basket falls into the gap once and misses a placement trying to "go the speed of light."
Dark spots
Near the end, Basket finds low light levels in parts of the ring, where mobs could still spawn. Torches go down as a stopgap until they run out. A long stretch of the ring is wired by the end, but none of it sorts anything yet. The video ends on the credits, with no gameplay after them.
