Styling Lazy River: Team B.S. Server Episode 58

  • Published on

Episode 58 picks up right where the styling left off, at the bottom of the iron farm base. The title calls it a lazy river. Basket never says the phrase on stream, but the work all happens around the water channels that run along the bottom, under a ceiling of glass and lights. The pattern is set: "a light, glass, glass, glass, and a light." Basket swaps the blocks in from underneath, one strip at a time, "so that no iron golems fall down here."

Lights and white glass

It doesn't go in clean the first time. A row Basket has just placed turns out to be an edge that should be lights, so it comes back out. After that it's steady: white stained glass in the middle strips, sea lanterns down the edges, and blocks put down to stop mob movement while the ceiling is open. Basket forgets to undo that on the other side and goes back to fix it. By then the inventory is full again, and the spare glass has to be picked up off the floor.

A theory about the golems

The golem question from last time is still open. Basket says one of the iron golem farms wasn't producing on the last stream, and that blocking off a door section and then unblocking it got it going again. So maybe the farms need a reset now and then. One idea is a daylight sensor that briefly resets the village every night while the area is loaded. "There might be one way to fix that." Nothing gets built for it yet.

One block over

The other big job is the path that doesn't match the sea lantern pattern. Basket shifts the whole thing one block toward the middle, which still lets it connect into the hoppers underneath. The hoppers come out first, then the path gets rebuilt in its new spot. Basket needs more furnaces to cap the hoppers and only has droppers, which "might not be styled the same on the side," so that waits.

Slabs make the new path line up with the opening, so a player can walk through and the iron golems can't. A stone pressure plate goes on the list. Basket would rather have a quartz slab in one spot, crafts some from three quartz blocks, and likes it: "Okay, that looks pretty good." When a viewer asks what the build is, Basket runs down the list: four iron golem farms in the corners, mob farms where mobs drop down and die, "except some of them live," a slime farm, and the storage ring.

Water, witches and lava

Some of them do live. At one of the pits on the floor a witch is still standing in the bottom. "You guys should not be alive."

Down by the lava Basket stops the water first, "to stop new ones from coming over," and then lets it back down: "now we can let the water down there and we won't be washed into the lava." Slabs go across so the path continues through, white glass goes in around it, and Basket works carefully around the signs that hold the lava strip in place.

Out of time

The second side gets the same move: rebuild the new line first, then break the old one all at once so the furnaces on the hoppers don't get lost, and turn one hopper to point the right way. One stretch gets regular slabs for now, with quartz to come later. Then Basket has to stop early. Both paths are shifted over and "now it goes right through." The bottom is "nearly styled," but one side still needs the same platforms, and one more path has to move. The video ends on the end screen, with nothing after it.
