Keep Basket: Team B.S. Server Episode 82

  • Published on

Episode 82 picks up on a new floor of the keep at Basket Castle. "This is sort of the bedroom floor, the start of the bedroom floors." The keep is finally above most of the walls, so the rooms up here can have windows with a view. Basket is the only player seen in the game.

Counting out the bedrooms

The floor gets laid out by counting blocks. One side is fifteen across, so a three-wide hallway leaves room for two rooms and a wall. The other side is fourteen, which splits into three rooms four wide with walls between them. "Look at that math." An odd-shaped space at the back, wedged between the secret passages, becomes one fancier room.

The secret tunnels run right alongside. One bedroom may get a painting that opens into them, so the ladder in the wall moves over. That way, coming through the painting, "you're not all of a sudden falling into a hole." The tower next to this floor stays closed off for now.

Private dining and big windows

One front room becomes a private dining room with a window facing forward, and a bedroom gets a big window too. "There's no curtains, but maybe we'll just pretend there's curtains." Basket goes back and forth on which way the stairs set around the windows should face, since they look better from one side than the other, and decides it depends on the room. A secret door from one room into the royal staircase gets dropped, because it would lead nowhere.

Lowering the hallway

The hallway on the bedroom floor feels far too tall, so Basket tries a drop ceiling, first low and then half a block higher. Along the way comes a look at the statistics screen to see how many stone bricks have gone into the build. Small leftover corners become closets, and one closet might hide a painting into the secret tunnels. "That seems weird to me." Cracked bricks run out, so it is down to the furnace for more, then back up past the dining area to the bedrooms.

Going higher

The next floor up keeps a similar layout with bigger rooms, and one tower gets a bedroom of its own. The front towers stay defensive, while the back ones get other uses. There will be two or three floors of bedrooms. One small room up high might suit a nanny, since servants would live down in the basement. The tower gets built up to match, with windows to come later. "Right now it seems really tall," but more towers are still planned around it.

A trip to the iron farm

To finish, Basket grabs the shulker boxes and heads to the iron farm for supplies. A viewer asks what period the build is. "Middle Ages," with Tudor-style wood buildings. The iron farm gets a quick tour: a storage ring around the outside, an item elevator up the middle that sorts everything, four iron golem farms in the corners, and mob farm pads, one of them on a slime chunk. The pale blocks came from a guardian farm somewhere else on the map. Basket fills up on stone and heads back toward Basketopia through a netherrack tunnel. The credits run to the end with no gameplay after them.
