Basket Castle Northeast Tower: Team B.S. Server Episode 119

  • Published on

The title card reads "Episode 119, Basket Castle Northeast Tower," and Basket is alone on the server, still working down through the tower one floor at a time. First comes a quick review: the entryway, the banquet hall a few layers up, and a floor split into two rooms with secret doors into a passageway that "doesn't really go anywhere yet." A railing could go in, but Basket is short on fences, so it waits.

Not quite square

The next floor has a big footprint to divide up. Basket counts the width, gets 14, and starts planning rooms: one with a wider door to make up for its odd size, one that could have "secret stuff into the wall," and a spot for a painting that might hide a secret door. Then the staircase comes out longer than the one on the floor above. Basket counts again, gets 14 one way and 15 the other, and thinks back to the roof. "I guess it is actually not exactly square." So one room gets longer, double doors become an option, and a leftover space might end up a closet.

The very bottom stays open for now as a large cellar. "Maybe this is a wine cellar with big casks or something."

Out of stairs

Next is the ceiling trim, done in birch stairs and slabs around the edges of each room. With the fences in hand, Basket can't take the usual shortcuts, so some spots just get filled in. The stairs go fast. "We need a lot more stairs." Basket checks the torches on the way, digs through the shulker boxes for more birch, and comes up short.

Repairs and a birch run

Before chopping, Basket rides the rail tunnel under the ocean to the Enderman XP farm and lets the mending gear soak up the orbs until the bars fill. Then it's back to the birch farm, where "someone else has been here." Somebody "didn't like my style of random trees everywhere," Basket says. Basket had spaced them out on purpose, since that gives more saplings, but chops some more anyway and replants.

A flower shop

With the birch stocked, Basket shows a viewer around the shops on the village street. That viewer once wanted to do shop interiors, and Basket would rather build the structures and leave the furniture to someone else. The corner shop is the first of three in a row, and the plan is a flower shop: maybe a flower bed out front that doesn't push into the road, a counter on one side, and storage upstairs. Every shop will hold one kind of supply, so dyes come from the flower shop, stone from a future quarry and wood from a lumberyard. "It also makes it so that I see the town more."

Lighting is the open question. The road has only a few torches, so Basket floats street lamps, maybe hanging off the sides of the buildings so fences don't connect to the walls. Sewers are coming eventually too, and Basket is "still waiting for 1.13."

Back to the tower

Basket wraps up a little early and heads back up to the castle to log out in the tower, then spots trim that needs fixing: "Messed up here. Messed up here." That is where Basket plans to start next time.
