Episode 11 opens on the freeplay factory where Episode 10 left it, with nothing in the research box. The edited-in card reads "Episode 11" and "World 1: Copperfield Part 2." Basket sorts the leftovers on the main belt into chests, finds the copper patch mined out, and builds a new copper mine with its own furnaces by the lake. Then the coal stops, the power goes with it, and the episode ends with copper plates crowding a jammed belt loop.
A place for everything
"I have more coal than I need, it seems." Where the coal belt has already gone around once, a filter inserter now drops coal into a chest, "and I think that will help with the congestion quite a bit." At a second loop, more filter inserters pull each item into its own chest. The bricks that had no slot last time turn up: "Oh, the bricks, there we go. So now bricks have a place to go." Ammunition is piling up in its chest, so gun turrets go up beside the loop, "because now this is a much more valuable area."
The copper runs dry
The copper line has slowed down. "Oh, it's dry." Bare yellow ground sits where the ore was, and Basket heads for the next copper patch, on the shore of a lake. Six electric mining drills go down on the ore, and small electric poles are run out to them. "So if I just hold it down, it'll place it like that."
Furnaces by the lake
Rather than belt the ore all the way back, "we can even have our own little smeltery over here too." A belt runs up from the drills, and a row of stone furnaces goes in above it with inserters behind them, until the iron runs out and the game says "Not enough ingredients." Two drills on a nearby coal patch feed a belt that takes a few turns so the coal lands on the inner lane. "It's kind of weird, but I think that's how it works." Night falls over the build. The furnaces sit idle at first, so the inserters feeding them are swapped for burner inserters.
No coal, no power
"Oh, no power. That's not a good thing." The boilers by the water have run out of coal, and so has the belt that feeds them: "Everything, all the coal has stopped." Basket hauls coal over by hand to get the steam going again, and swaps some iron chests for bigger steel chests. "For some reason the coal stopped and then everything was sad," says the commentary, "we have to make sure that doesn't happen." Smoke rises from the boilers again, and the new furnaces start turning out copper plates.
Where it ends
A filter inserter and an underground belt carry the new copper plates into the main loop. With copper back in the system, copper wire can be made again, but the belt is so crowded that the wire cannot get out. "What a mess." The episode ends over the jammed loop with nothing researching. "Well, lots of lessons."
