Episode 15 of Season 2 is a stream, opened by a short recorded tour of the base. The new science setup is running: trains carry science packs to two research stations. Then come power armor with its own robots, a push of the wall into tougher enemies, a tank run, and a hunt for why blue science is slow. When the stream ends, plastic is being pulled in from the logistic network and research is running again.
Science by train
"I've been busy." The tour starts on the map, with new mining areas, then goes to "my new science thing." Each pack is made at its own spot and picked up by train. Two drop-off stations, Research1 and Research2, use the same template as the production cells. The train whose schedule reads RedSciencePickup and GreenSciencePickup gets the two research stops added, and so does the blue science train. One wagon holds red, one holds green, and stack inserters move the packs onto belts for the machines.
The power runs out for a moment. More research stations could go in later, the commentary says. With research moving, the goal is "a more effective way of killing the bad guys." Power armor goes into the research queue, because "my armor broke so I don't even have armor."
Armor with robots
The stream picks up with the armor built. Its grid holds a reactor and a Personal roboport, which its info box says carries 10 robots. A misclick dumps the inventory on the ground first. A batch of construction robots gets crafted, and a speed upgrade waits on 30 advanced engines, more than are on hand: "I'll have to make a note to come back to this."
The robots in the armor take building materials straight out of the inventory, which the commentary finds is "not really what I wanted." At a busy ore station, two trains get a separate exit so they stop blocking the line.
Pushing the wall
The wall moves out next. Laser turrets and power poles go down from a blueprint, and the armor's robots place them. The commentary has learned to expand in a rectangle, because robots that fly over enemy bases die. The enemies here are "the green guys," and the laser turrets take a while to bring them down. Turrets run short in the network, so the back ones get picked up and moved forward.
The achievements list comes up, and so does the research tree for the Rocket silo, which "allows you to launch a rocket into space and win the game." Plenty of it is still unresearched.
Tank and robots
Then the tank comes out with the robots aboard. They fly out to repair it, and also chop down trees. Repair packs run out, so more get made. The gates in the walls are tight for the tank, and the commentary would build bigger ones in a new design. Melee enemies pin the tank once ("I'm stuck"). A shortcut through a nest goes wrong: "This was a horrible idea." The commentary loads the last save, and the next shot is back at the base.
Chasing the bottleneck
Back at the science, blue science is the short one. A temporary train rides to its cell, and the missing input there is red chips. At the red chip cell, plastic is what runs low. Some is stored in the logistic network, and the commentary looks for a way to see how much.
That leads to Circuit network, the one part of the game not tried yet. It gets researched, and a decider combinator and a constant combinator are hooked up. "This seems like it's probably cool, but I'm confused." The combinators are set aside for later.
The fix is simpler. In one cell, a requester chest asks the network for 100 plastic, placed so the cell's own machines still fill first. Then at the red chip area, a chest becomes a requester chest too.
Where it ends
Research starts again, and Rocket shooting speed 1 is in the research box. The commentary plans to research a lot more and possibly work toward beating the game next time, then ends the stream.
