Episode 16 of Season 2 is a stream, and the goal now is the rocket silo. "We're continuing our quest to try to beat the game. We're close." Basket builds a concrete cell by the water, finds that two iron mines feeding it are empty, and then goes after plastic, which slows everything else down. By the end the concrete is running, more plastic is free for the network, and a radar station is scanning for oil.
Concrete by the water
The research box reads Rocket shooting speed 4 as the stream starts. Concrete is already researched, so while research runs, the job is a place to make it. Concrete needs water, so the new cell goes beside a lake. The first spot has enemies nearby ("we need to not do it right there"), and the robots carry in the parts for a cell laid out "like a regular production area." The machines are switched to concrete and turned so the water comes in from the back. Pipes run to the lake, and the inputs, per the commentary, are iron ore and bricks.
The station gets the name ConcreteMatDropoff. The iron ore train's schedule gains the new stop between its pickup and IronOreDropoff3, so it leaves what the cell needs and takes the rest on. Lining up the track is a fight: "I'm really unhappy about this. All right, new plan." The new plan works, and a brick train starts dropping off too.
Empty mines
The first iron train arrives with nothing. "Please have iron. You don't have any iron." IronOrePickup2 is empty, and so is IronOrePickup6. Both stops come out, and the dead track around them is torn up. IronOrePickup9, way up north, has a big stockpile: "this one has a lot." While the schedule is being edited, the Stations list has CopperOrePickup7 highlighted, which comes back later.
With ore arriving, the gears in the cell start turning. Finished concrete goes into a passive provider chest, so the robots can bring it later.
What the silo needs
A research finishes ("one more rocket thing to go"), and the box moves on to Rocket shooting speed 5. The research screen shows the Rocket silo as unavailable, with Low density structure as one of its parts: steel plate, copper plate and plastic bar. Most of the list is already on hand, the commentary decides. "The big thing was making enough concrete over time."
Chasing plastic
Red chips from the inventory go into the blue science cell to speed research up. A train ride to Red Chip Pickup shows the hold-up there: "the delay seems to be plastic." A requester chest at the red chip machines pulls plastic from the logistic network.
At the blue chip base, the choke point is oil, and only a few small oil spots have turned up. Spare plastic now goes by stack inserter into a passive provider chest, so the network can fly it to the red chip cell. At the plastic base up north, the same chemical also goes to batteries. Drone production is switched off ("I think we have enough drones"), the silo's 200 advanced engines get a chest of their own, and the battery line's buffer is cut short so batteries back up and more goes to plastic.
Steel and radars
The silo will need a thousand steel, so the steel output is set to stockpile in a chest instead of vanishing into the network. A rail signal goes in so trains can still reach the steel stop. Research moves on to Speed module 3.
To look for more oil, Basket crafts radars from green chips and sets a whole stack down in one walled block. "I don't think you need quite that many in one spot." More go up north. On the way, CopperOrePickup5 turns out to be running low but still working.
Where it ends
Near the end, a train sits stopped on the line. The commentary places a couple of missing pieces to split up the track, then finds the iron train has been carrying copper: "I messed this up earlier in the stream." It drops the copper off, its schedule is cleaned of copper stops, and it heads back to iron and the concrete cell. On the map there is more oil in two spots. Building out there without the logistic network, or just waiting, are both on the table. "That'll be the end of the stream."
