Basket takes the Mantis Cruiser Type C out for the first time. The hangar names it The Theseus, on Normal with Advanced Edition content enabled. It has a Crystal Lockdown Bomb, a Stun Bomb, the Mantis Pheromones augment, no drones and a crew teleporter. "There's no other weapons," Basket says. The crew list shows Kara, an Engi, Lombard, a Mantis, and Adnan, a Lanius. The run is one video, and it ends in Sector 2 when a Lanius Scout tears The Theseus apart for a score of 382.
Bombs and a boarder
Sector 1 is a Civilian Sector. At a distress beacon, a mining colony has a disease and a riot, and Basket sends the Engi to calm the infected. "We got some free stuff. Good. Including bombs, which we need."
A mercenary in a Pirate Interceptor offers its services, but Basket is "too broke for that" and fights it. The plan is boarding: the lockdown bomb seals a room and the stun bomb stuns everyone in it. Against an Auto-Surveyor in a nebula, Adnan teleports over at once, "'cause he doesn't breathe." With no guns, Basket has no other way to finish the ship. "I have no way of actually hurting this ship besides with this guy." The Auto-Surveyor explodes and leaves 18 scrap.
Taking out the oxygen
A Rebel Fighter sends boarders of its own and goes after the doors and oxygen. Basket drops a bomb and sends Adnan into the enemy's oxygen room. "His O2 is down, so if I actually just sit here, he'll die." It works. "What a bizarre setup."
In an asteroid field a second Pirate Interceptor attacks. Basket boards it, knocks out its weapons, and clears the ship. A prisoner aboard, Malott, joins the crew.
The Auto-Hacker
Near a red star, an Auto-Hacker puts a drone on the teleporter. "He teleported me back." Fires break out, the doors go down, and the warning reads hull critical. Basket jumps away. Then comes a bribe Basket accepts. No store turns up, so the scrap goes into a second shield layer.
How it ended
Sector 2 is an Abandoned Sector, and its opening text says the Lanius are suspected. A distress beacon brings a Lanius Scout. "So these guys, they can breathe," Basket says. "My cool advantage is gone for that." Adnan teleports into the weapons room, but the hull is almost gone. The Theseus breaks apart, and the game-over screen reads "One last explosion marks your fate as your ship is torn apart," with a score of 382. All four crew are still on the list. "That's a really tough ship," Basket says. "You have no other weapons." The video goes to the hangar before its end cards.
