The Missing Page is the sixth episode of Basket's realMyst: Masterpiece Edition playthrough, recorded from a stream. Basket collects the last blue and red pages, opens the fireplace with a pattern from a burned book, tries all three books behind it, and then hunts for a page the man in the green book is missing. The video ends with Basket in a new snowy world, opening a book with MYST on its cover.
Back through the maze
Basket goes back to the world with the airship to check its surface, and finds two pages there. Basket takes the blue page first, climbs back into the little vessel and rides the tunnels again by the map from last time. The book at the end leads home. The blue page goes into the blue book, and the man in it talks at length. Then Basket goes back for the red page ("Is that a red page? Yes, red page") and makes the whole ride a second time.
Pattern 158
With the red page in, the man in the red book gives an instruction on the recording: "find pattern 158," recreate it on the door of the fireplace, and that will lead to "the last red page." A warning comes with it: "If you touch the green book, you also would be in prison forever." Basket finds the pattern book on the library shelf and reads the grid off as ones and zeros, row by row. "One one zero zero zero zero one one..."
Entered on the grid panel in the fireplace, the pattern opens a space with the red book and the blue book side by side and a green book above them. The commentary gives fair warning: "Spoiler warning, I'm about to beat the game three times."
Three books
Basket saves, puts the last red page in the red book, and is thanked: "you've done the right thing." Then the view changes, and a note fills the screen: "I hope you enjoy your new home as much as I enjoyed it." It is signed Sirrus. Basket loads the save and tries the blue book next. "Yeah, but that's a trap book, oh no!" Another load.
In the green book, a man at a desk asks for a page that was taken: "I cannot return without that page. You, my friend, can bring that page to me." Basket goes in without the page anyway, and a second note appears: "Welcome to D'ni. You and I will live here... forever." This one is signed Atrus. "No, I lied. I don't want to live here forever, actually." Another load.
Finding the page
Basket re-enters the fireplace code, which takes a few tries ("That didn't work"), and hears the man in the green book out again. Then the search begins. The Tower Rotation map in the library becomes the guide. With all the marker switches on, its line locks onto four places, which Basket lists from notes: "the boat, the boiler, the blimp, and the gear."
After one more round of the switches ("I guess you have to have them all on then flip the one at the boat again"), a small box on the dock opens. "Okay, so now I have the page." Back through the fireplace and into the green book, Basket hands it over.
The man at the desk takes the page, leaves, and comes back: "It is done." The library is Basket's now: "Feel free to enjoy the exploration from my library on Myst."
One more world
Back in the library, a new book has a drawing and the number 2735. Basket sets the imager to 40, follows a newly opened path, and enters 2735 on a four-digit counter in a tunnel. The commentary guesses this "raised up something into the library," and there a book now sits on a pedestal. It links to a dark, snowy coast under the stars. Inside a round stone building, Basket finds a book with MYST on its cover ("That brings me back. I don't want to do that yet"), turns on the power outside, and thaws a frozen door. An elevator leads up to a carved machine. Its controls send lightning between two posts and spread green light across the sky.
Where it ends
A book in a drawer talks about a "crystal that shows unlinked worlds," as the commentary reads it. "Okay. So, let's go back to Myst." Basket walks back to the MYST book, opens it to a page with a six-spoked star over green and gold, and touches it. The screen goes dark, a dim view of the same star fades in, and the video ends there.
