Crossing Island starts on the North Shore, with the lamps unsolved and the dock chest locked. A hint about a canister by the anvil gets things moving, and soon the lamps give up a crank, the crank drives a boat, and Basket lands on a new island with an alchemy lab. The video ends there, partway into a recipe that won't come together.
The canister
"There was a letter in the anvil," the commentary says, and then reads out a hint: "look at the canister on the bench behind. You need to raise the lever on the right all the way to the top by pushing it in and out." The commentary calls out long strings of moves ("right, left, left, right"), the lever keeps sliding back down, and a remark about not having read "the rest of the walkthrough" shows where the hint came from. Then "now it actually just opens," and there is a key.
The chest and the lamps
The key opens the chest on the dock. Inside are gears, glowing crystals and a lever, and the lid has eight circles drawn on it, some with a line through and one with an X.
The lever fits the turning lamp on its stand, and now each setting can be locked in. The four circles on the sign give the angles, and the chest lid shows where to aim, as the commentary reads it: "The thing on the chest is letting me know, I believe, where I need to position them." Lower left to upper right first, then vertical, then horizontal, then upper left to lower right, each aimed and locked. After the last one: "Yes! We have it now. A crank."
Crossing Island
"I don't think it's for the boat. Maybe you're for the boat." It is. "Okay, we're moving now." The boat runs between the rocks and grounds at a small dock: "We will never be able to leave here again." The commentary reads out an achievement, "Shipwrecked," and the words Crossing Island show on screen. Near the landing are plants, a table with a flame on top and a white vase below, and a pump that "compresses the air then turns this thing."
The Alchemy Lab
Up the path, the screen shows Alchemy Lab. Inside are four tall glass tanks with handwritten labels, a bench of powders and bottles, a spoon, and a recipe card listing four ingredients and three powders.
A letter there reads: "I hope you enjoyed the ride. Unfortunately, the boat was only designed to get you here." This is where its writer "dived deeper into learning about the vegetation of the island."
Where it ends
Basket gathers four jugs and starts on the recipe. The spoon only works when it is highlighted, and a tube fits into a holder. But one tank looks empty ("we're out of that"), the jugs won't go down where they seem to belong, and a bin turns out to be "just the compost." "Yeah, we still can't put it in." The video ends in the lab with the recipe not made.
