Episode 24 of The Witness stays in the dark, flooded hall where Episode 23 ended. Most of the video goes to one panel hanging from the ceiling and the hunt for a spot where its answer can be seen. It ends at a new panel in a sunlit corner, a few lines into it.
Back in the dark hall
Wooden walkways cross black water between pale pillars. Blue panels with web patterns sit on the pillars and on scaffolding, some joined by glowing blue cables, and green strips glow on the pillar sides. "Need to find the right spot, I guess." The commentary settles on a plan: "maybe I'll just leave the water down and then run around a bunch."
Basket walks the walkways and looks down a brown-walled side passage that ends at a slatted gate. "I don't know how many more rooms there are."
The panel on the ceiling
One panel hangs tilted from the ceiling on a pole, with a lit blue cable running into it. Lines go on and come off. A wrong try does not undo anything ("that's good that it doesn't"), but "this one's not very brute forcible." The commentary wonders whether there is "some spot you can stand that when it's like halfway through emptying that you can see it."
Then a new idea comes up: "Would the angle be best reflection be from behind? ... Yes, it's possible." The commentary takes a screenshot to keep the shape, calling it "slightly cheesy," then goes back to the panel. A line goes around the outer edge of the web, and a second cable lights up blue.
Following the cable
The new cable runs along the ceiling to the next panel. "One thing is lit up, so it's this thing that's actually in the water. So we want to try to find the reflection for this guy." That takes a long time. "The structure is kind of in the way." Trying from behind does not work: "all we see is just the back of it."
After another screenshot, Basket stands over a panel set low under a walkway. "No, it's actually going to start at the bottom." Then: "Yes!" The cable on its other side lights up.
Into the light
That cable leads to a corner lit warm from above, with wooden stairs and scaffolding. Below sits a square panel with a hexagon grid and a Z mark on a glowing background. "Oh look at that, we get to see this one." The start is a guess ("I can't tell where to start, but let's go with it"), and lines go along the Z a few times.
Where it ends
"Okay, good. Now what?" The view turns to the green strips and the sunlit stairs, the screen goes dark, and the video cuts to the end card. Whether the Z panel is solved is not clear on screen.
