Episode 47 is the last video of The Witness. The commentary says the game was restarted after being beaten, and that this time the goal is the secret ending. Basket opens a grid gate near the start, explores a set of hidden rooms, solves one small panel in the dark, and then the picture switches from the game to live-action video. The game closes, and the video ends on a black screen.
A gate by the start
The video opens in the round white tunnel with the yellow panel, then a dark corridor that leads out into a garden of purple trees. In the wall there is a white grid panel with a beam of light rising behind it. "It's a grid also," the commentary notes, and the plan is to "draw from the sun down" and loop around. A little later the grid is gone and the wall shows a dark doorway. "Interesting."
Hidden rooms
Inside are warm orange rooms with couches, plants and a long desk. Sheets of paper on a low table carry hand-drawn line puzzles. "Seem familiar, these shapes." Small screens show views of the island, and a desk holds a round sun-shaped dial and rows of buttons. The commentary finds "noise boxes" and the game's credits, and calls it "a secret little credits area."
Stairs climb to a deck "in the clouds," and later a green cave with a glowing waterfall. From high up, the whole island spreads out below. "This doesn't really give any more answers," the commentary says.
Into the dark
A dark corridor leads to a lit path through dark flowers. At the end is a small orange-framed panel. "So let's see, let's solve this one." A line goes across it. For a moment the view then shows what looks like a real office, "maybe this is where they designed the game," and then a dark path floating in a purple space. "Oh, there's a door now."
The secret ending
From about 10:20 the screen shows live-action video, seen from someone's point of view: ceiling lights, a couch and a computer screen, an office with desks, a kitchen, and steps out into a back garden full of plants. The commentary is mostly quiet, apart from "It's a nice garden." The view looks up at the sky, fades to light blue, and goes black.
Where it ends
"Game closed." Over the black screen the commentary sums it up: "So that's Secret Ending. That was even weirder than the game, I didn't think that was possible." The talk turns to one hidden achievement still not earned. A post read aloud describes a timed challenge behind the mountain that needs all the lasers, and the commentary thinks "everything resets," so that would mean doing all the lasers again. The end card follows.
