Episode 5 opens on the plank platform high in the jungle canopy, with the bed, a chest, a furnace and a crafting table already up there. Basket clears out the inventory ("rotten flesh, I don't need these guys right now"), puts pork in the furnace and crafts sticks and more torches. Then it's time to go down and get more wood for what Basket calls the tree fort.
A cave under the base
Basket heads down from the treetop. It's morning, and zombies are still out down under the leaves. "The canopy protects a lot of stuff," Basket says. Basket passes the spot of an earlier creeper run-in, then spots an opening in the ground. "Oh, look at this! There's a cave underneath my base. That's kinda neat." A zombie waits inside among the vines and goes down to the sword.
Coal, and no armor yet
"This might not be a very big cave," and it isn't, but there's coal. Basket lights the walls and mines out the seam. A look at the inventory screen shows the only armor so far. "Actually I want to get some iron so I can get some armor. Right now I just have those boots from the first cows I encountered." With the coal collected, Basket leaves by the same way in, so as not to get lost.
Finding the right tree
Back on the surface every jungle tree looks alike. "Should have marked my tree a little better." The creeper blast spot gives it away, and this time Basket puts a torch on the trunk. Then it's on to the wood. Basket goes to work on a big broken jungle tree and takes the wide trunk apart from the top down, block by block. "Probably more efficient way of doing this, but that's alright." A pile of dirt left up in the leaves gets cleared too: "This doesn't look natural." While chopping, Basket looks ahead to the next big game update and notes that new things like emeralds, temples and desert pyramids won't show up in parts of the world that are already made.
A bigger platform
Finding the home tree again takes a moment ("I thought it was on this side, no. Well, there it is"), and the climb ends up near the clouds. "Okay, well this is really high." Basket drops the wood in the chest and starts building the platform out, adding planks and torches, with a stepped opening in the floor. The sun goes down while the work goes on.
Next time
The next idea is walls: "I want walls around my main building." For now Basket decides to "sleep through the night tonight," and the episode ends with Basket alive and lying in the bed on the platform.
