Episode 6 picks up on the plank platform high in the jungle canopy, with the bed, chest, furnace and crafting table where Basket left them. "So now we have the platform up," Basket says, and the next job is walls, "'cause eventually it'll start raining and I'm gonna get all wet." There's no glass yet for windows, so the walls stay plain for now.
Walls around the platform
Basket turns jungle logs into planks, wanting every plank the same color, and runs a low plank wall around the edge of the platform, past the torches already standing at the corners. A few ladders come off the crafting table next, and one goes up on the inside of the wall. The rest stay in the inventory, "kind of handy if you're digging." Because that's the plan for the rest of the episode: get underground and mine.
Packing for the mine
Then comes a long stretch of sorting at the chest and crafting table. Basket pulls string out of the chest and makes a bow, "but I don't have any arrows yet." More sticks, torches and ladders follow, plus picks and digging supplies, with the bucket riding along. A last look at the sky before heading down: "How's our daylight going? Yep, that'll be enough to get underground. Let's not die here, that'd be bad."
A hatch over the shaft
Down on the jungle floor, Basket picks a spot not far from the base tree for the entrance, and then stops. "I should have made a hatch." It's back up to the platform to turn planks into a trapdoor. Basket isn't sure zombies would jump into a ladder shaft anyway, "but, stay on the safe side, we've got a hatch." The shaft goes down through the dirt and into stone, with ladders up one wall and the trapdoor over the top. On the way down Basket passes on a tip: don't dig out the block you're standing on, "unless you are somehow straddling two different spots."
Down in fast motion
Early in the episode Basket promised to speed up the digging, since "watching me just digging for hours would be a boring process." Now it happens: "I might speed this part up," and the dig switches to fast motion. Ladder after ladder goes onto the shaft wall, torches go up, and a patch of coal ore gets mined out on the way down.
Iron at last
When the video slows back down, Basket has two pieces of news. "I'm out of ladders and I finally found some iron." After episodes of leaving iron in the ground, Basket mines some out of the shaft wall. "I thought I had enough ladders," Basket says, and wants to go "a little lower than this actually," so the next trip means more ladders.
Next time
Before wrapping up, Basket fills the side holes back in "just to avoid the possibility of stuff spawning," with no idea whether it's day or night up top. The episode ends with Basket alive at the bottom of the shaft, iron found and the ladders used up.
