Basket starts back in the blocked-off cave corner with the iron from last time. There's a choice to make about what it goes into. "If I wanted to focus on armor to keep myself safe or a pick, I think I'm going to go with armor, because I think that it's more important to stay alive. I'm sure I'll find some more iron soon anyway." The ingots become an Iron Helmet, and the armor bar finally shows something.
Coal, then a temple
Next comes all the coal in the cave, dug out with stone tools in a sped-up stretch. "So I got a stack and a half. I'm sorry, two stacks and a half." Basket wants a bow and hopes to find spiders for string, then climbs out into the daylight to look around. Past the grass hills, the sand starts: "oh what is that over there, it's a desert temple." Basket hopes it holds "some diamond or something else," and gets torches going first, up top as well: this one isn't covered over, "so mobs will spawn in there."
Already blown up
The temple keeps its loot under the floor, "but it's also booby-trapped. So we'll have to be careful with our approach." Basket digs down through the orange and blue pattern on the floor and finds a big dark hole. "Looks like it's probably already blown up." It isn't a cave at all, just a crater. "So it blew up pretty big." There's at least some iron in the walls, and wool in the temple. Later Basket is still thinking about it: "I wish that temple wasn't blown up, that would have been nice."
The wool goes into a bed, set up in the temple next to a furnace and crafting table. The game refuses: "You can only sleep at night." "Oh. I thought it was night. I guess not." A little later it really is night, and Basket sleeps through it.
Wood, leather and a wish list
In the morning Basket packs up, heads off past the water and spends a long, sped-up stretch chopping trees. The real hope is a village. It "would be kind of fun to maybe try and defend the village from zombies spawning and stuff." Leather gets saved for an enchanting table someday, and there's already a spell in mind. "I really want to get feather falling on my boots, 'cause I have a habit of jumping off tall places and dying."
Into the ravine
Then a ravine opens up in the ground, with iron in the wall. Basket takes the fast way down: "One of the easier ways to get down, and potentially dangerous ways, is to go via a water stream." At the bottom: "oh look at that mine shaft. Lots of dangerous and interesting things to check out." Before going near it, Basket builds a line of ladders up the wall for an easy way in and out. "Because you know, me and ladders."
An outpost before dark
The light is going. On the way down the side of the ravine, a drop costs Basket a good part of the health bar. "I tell ya, I really need feather falling. Definitely need feather falling." Then: "Hurry up, it's getting dark, it's getting dark!" Basket digs into the wall to set up an outpost and hits more iron right away. A door wouldn't help much: "we are in hardcore, so even if I built a door, the zombies would just knock it down."
Inside go a furnace, a chest, a crafting table and the bed. The mineshaft below should have cobwebs to break for string, and with "one feather" and "five arrows that we got from skeletons," a bow is close. "It's not the best but it'll do." The episode ends with Basket alive in the outpost, iron cooking in the furnace and the mineshaft waiting.
