Day seven of the Max Writer Challenge starts in the spawner workshop under the desert, with green Hunger swirls from eating rotten flesh still floating around Basket. "And I have a zombie to kill. Or cure. Depending." The recording buddy is on the voice call again, and only Basket's screen is in the video.
Trees on the surface
Basket is low on wood: "I'm gonna head up top and hopefully there's no bad guys. I'm gonna try and get some trees cuz I'm running low." Up the long tunnel and out through the sand, the surface has changed. The saplings from earlier days have grown, and Basket spends a good while chopping, including one big tree. Saplings go back into dirt patches in the sand, and a couple of zombies get cut down along the way.
A wall around the trees
Then comes the plan for the farm: "I need to make a cobblestone wall." Basket crafts cobblestone walls and runs them in a perimeter across the sand, around the saplings, a crafting table and the torches. The sun goes down while the wall is still going up, and a zombie comes right up against it.
Creepers on the inside
A wall only helps if the monsters spawn outside it. At night, creepers show up inside the yard, between the tree and the saplings. "Oh, how did a creeper get in here? Oh my god, they're spawning on the side!" A skeleton turns up by the wall too, bow out. Basket gets through it with the diamond sword and digs back down.
Stairs for the villagers
The way home doubles as a plan for later. "I think I'm gonna make a stair right down into that room, and I'm thinking if I open it up to the surface the villagers will like work their way up." Signs go into the shaft for the water elevator too: "I need to make some signs and finish my water elevator." Basket is aware of the clock: "We're on episode seven now, right? We got two more episodes after this and I don't even have dudes yet."
More cells, more regular zombies
Back in the workshop, Basket takes a viewer suggestion and digs more cells for the zombies, then tries a redstone torch in one to see if they still spawn. They do, but it doesn't help with checking faces. "You're a regular zombie and I hate your guts." Every zombie checked is a regular one again.
While waiting, Basket goes back to the gold: "I guess while I'm sitting here I'll make some apples." Eight gold ingots go around an apple for a golden apple, the cure for a zombie villager once one turns up.
A diamond chestplate
"So I have nine diamonds, what can I do with nine diamonds? I can make a chest plate, that's cool." Eight of them go into a diamond chestplate. Basket finishes the day killing the zombies that aren't villagers and waiting for morning: "This is the end of my episode 7." The last shot is Basket in third person in the workshop, alive, in an iron helmet and the new chestplate. Then the credits roll, and nothing plays after them.
