Michael Deering's May challenge picks up where day four left off: Basket underground by the lava pool, now with a water bucket filled from a falling stream. A creeper is standing right by the water. "Oh, man, there's a creeper."

Obsidian by the lava

The plan is to wall off the area "so I don't get surprised while I'm mining it up." Basket pours water over the lava and mines the obsidian with the diamond pickaxe. A Nether portal comes up on the call, and gets parked: "should I just get the four obsidian now and then if we want to build a portal we can do that later." Four it is.

Then a question about the time turns up a surprise. It's already daytime up top. Day four never got its proper ending, so the call makes it official: "Welcome to day five. Congratulations, we're just so busy we just kept on going."

An enchanting table

Basket climbs out and walks back to the village. Stuff goes into the furnace, and the two diamonds come out of the chest. With a book from the library, the obsidian and the diamonds, Basket crafts an enchanting table, and chat reads "BasketMC has just earned the achievement [Enchanter]". The talk turns to where it goes in the library house, so the bookshelves can power it. Basket's game drops back to the server list for a moment, then it's straight back in.

Planning the wall

Now the secret project comes out. It's a wall around the village. Out on the grass, Basket sets cobblestone markers along the paths with FriarNurgle close by, and the two work out sizes on the call. The walls can be one block thick for now and three thick later, and the outer edges need to be an odd number of blocks. "And then the tower is in this corner somehow." They check coordinates to count the length.

The line runs straight through two farms. The answer on the call is simple: "We can just take down the two farms. We have plenty of farms." Basket digs up farmland and runs the cobblestone line through where the crops were.

Building in the dark

Night comes while the wall is still going up. "How tall do we want this wall right now?" "I think we could just stick with three for now." Basket keeps stacking cobblestone along the line, with more torches on the list to light it up.

A sword breaks partway through ("I need to go make a sword"), and Basket is carrying a stone sword from then on. Chat shows FriarNurgle earning [Time to Strike!] and then [Monster Hunter]. There's one more call about the size, whether to pull two houses inside the wall. "Bigger the better, huh?" Zombies show up on the grass in the dark, and Basket squares up to one with the stone sword. "These guys keep on updating their path to try and get to those villagers as I work on the wall."

Sunrise

"The sun is starting to rise." The two meet up to end the day properly, with the sunrise behind them. Nobody is quite sure which day it is ("Five. Probably five."), but both are standing in the village at dawn, and no villager death shows on screen. The end card follows, with no gameplay after it.
