Day four of Underground, Michael Deering's February 2014 challenge, opens with Team MaBaSteeSco a little lost in its own caves. The chat shows Max_Writer joining the game, and the first question is "Where did we come from?" Somebody finds the way back: "We're heading back to the double spawner."
Moving into the spawner rooms
The spawner rooms are home now, so the gear moves in. The crafting benches and dirt come over from the lava cavern, and the chests fill up fast. "I'm just throwing all the gear in here, man. We're so rich." Sugar cane turns up, with a plan to "put it on sand because it grows faster," and the team pools its water buckets. The furnaces run iron and potatoes. The chat shows BasketMC earning Time to Strike!, and a few minutes later Basket's armor slots show iron boots and an iron helmet. The clock is still on duty: "You're watching the time, huh?" "Yeah, I got the clock, remember?"
A portal from buckets
Then the big idea: "How about we put our portal together right now, Basket?" Basket heads back to the lava cavern with buckets. Basket scoops up lava and water and sets them down until an obsidian frame stands against the cave wall. Flint is the last piece. "I just need one flint." Basket digs through gravel until some drops, then crafts flint and steel from it and an iron ingot.
On the way back, a teammate digs out a patch of diamond ore in a side tunnel near the frame.
Into the Nether
Basket lights the frame, steps into the purple, and the screen goes to "Downloading terrain." On the other side is netherrack, glowstone overhead and a lake of lava. "Oh my gosh, dude. This nether looks awesome." Scoti_Garbidis comes through too, and the chat shows Max_Writer earning Monster Hunter. "Zombie in here! How?" Basket lays cobblestone across the lava edge and sets torches, and someone sums up the mood: "I don't know why I'm excited. We're gonna die."
Digging for a fortress
Basket and Scoti_Garbidis tunnel into the netherrack and break into dark nether brick corridors. It's very dark: "Will you put torches down?" The goal is clear, at least: "Remember, all we need is a blaze rod." Basket kills something in the dark and the chat shows BasketMC earning Monster Hunter. "It's about midnight in Minecraft," so the time is getting short.
We don't play with fire
Flames start showing through gaps in the walls. "Oh god, I'm on fire!" "Quit it, don't die." Basket patches openings with cobblestone while Scoti_Garbidis works alongside. Then a blaze burns right in front of Basket, goes up in a puff of smoke, and a blaze rod drops. "Got one." "Here comes another one." More fire flares at the gap. "We don't play with fire, Blazes!"
The clock calls it again: "It is just your morning, we probably should call this episode." All four end day four alive, with no death line or death screen anywhere in the episode. The end card follows, with nothing after it.
