Episode 6 opens with "GopherCraft SMP" over Mount BasketMC and a title card reading "Episode 6, Wither Battle, with special guest Steel Douglas." "Hey everybody, Basket here," the episode begins. Basket and Steel_Douglas are going to kill a wither, the "first wither kill on the server," and another player is listening in on voice.
Chickens in the strip mine
Basket leads the way down a ladder shaft into the strip mine and along a long tunnel lined with torches. By one voice's count, 17 chickens end up wandering the tunnel to distract the wither. A voice lays out the plan: one on each side with bows, then charge once the wither switches phases. Obsidian sits at the far end, and a voice says the blasts have a harder time breaking it.
Potions up
Basket's hotbar holds a Smite Sword and a bow named "Pew Pew Lasers." "I'm going to do fire, then regen, then strength," a voice says. Then a boss bar reading "Wither" appears across the top of the screen.
Overkill
The wither shows up at the far end of the tunnel, with fire and explosions around it. Steel_Douglas closes in with a sword, and chat reads "Steel_Douglas has just earned the achievement [Overkill]." The fight drops into a dark pit below, where the wither hangs right over Steel_Douglas. Basket's inventory screen now lists Wither II next to the potion effects. A moment later the screen reads "You died!" and chat says "BasketMC withered away."
Still withered
Basket respawns on the snowy surface by the beds, and the inventory screen still lists Wither II along with Strength, Regeneration and Fire Resistance. "I'm still withered when I spawn back? That's a bug," a voice says. Basket climbs back down the ladder shaft. Basket's dropped gear is waiting in a chest, and Basket takes it all back. The boss bar is gone. "Geez, that was fast," a voice says.
A beacon in the stairwell
Up top, Basket crafts the beacon from glass, obsidian and the Nether Star, then heads back down to a stone staircase built around a column of water. The beacon goes on a base of gold blocks under pale gray blocks, and Basket pays with an Iron Ingot and picks Haste. The beam is blocked up top at first. Once the middle is dug out up top and a cobblestone wall goes over the gap, Basket picks Haste II.
The tour
A voice explains the plan: hollow out a huge area here for a branch mine, and move the beacon farther down when it's out of range. Basket walks Steel_Douglas up the stairs past the layers still being dug, out to a big room lined with chests. "Right now it doesn't sort yet, it's just storage," a voice says. Chat shows pikerize joining the game along the way.
Back on the surface, the beacon beam now rises out of the floor in the falling snow, and Steel_Douglas waits by the beds. "Thanks for helping out," a voice says. The end card follows to the last frame.
