Episode 8 opens with "GopherCraft SMP" over Mount BasketMC and a title card reading "Episode 8, Ender Dragon with Towers" over a crowd of players at a nether portal. "Hey everybody, Basket here," the episode begins, with a bunch of people from the server along to kill the ender dragon. Nameplates over the next few minutes show Steel_Douglas, pikerize, Th3pooka, fuzzyjelly, Hippalectryon, Scoti_Garbidis, coolhandlindsey, Gopherboy and Sayulily, and chat shows tsxcom joining the game.
Through the base
The group steps through the portal and walks single file down a long stone brick hallway. "This is the part where we all crouch and walk all slow," a voice says. At the far end Basket leads everyone into the base, past "the fast path to get down lower" and down the main stairs, which wind around a column of water. Not everyone keeps up. A voice says one player is stuck in the portal, and another falls into a hopper system and ends up at the very bottom.
The plan
The end portal room is open to the night sky: a dark red brick floor, beds, a crafting table and a square pool of water. Chat fills up. "jump in the bed to set spawn," Steel_Douglas writes, after offering night vision potions to anyone who needs them. Th3pooka posts the rule for the fight: "THE PLAN --- Dont shoot the towers, to make the fight harder." Basket's first try at a bed gets "You may not rest now, there are monsters nearby." A voice adds that "as long as we're wearing our pumpkins we'll be fine." Then, on a count of three, everyone jumps into the water.
Into the End
Chat reports that Th3pooka and Steel_Douglas have earned the achievement [The End?], and that "Sayulily fell from a high place." Basket lands in a narrow pit in the end stone, puts on a pumpkin and digs out. With a stack of pumpkins and snow in the hotbar, Basket sets up snow golems across the island. Then the boss bar reading "Ender Dragon" appears.
Snowballs and healing towers
For long stretches the HUD is hidden, and the screen shows only the dark sky, the obsidian towers and arrows streaking up at the dragon. The snow golems pelt the dragon and the endermen with snowballs. "He's just hugging that healing tower," a voice complains, and later a voice shouts "He's healing!" Partway through, a voice says "we killed a tower." A chest goes down on the end stone for a player's dropped gear, and spare arrows get thrown on the ground "by the dirt" for anyone who runs out.
Group photo
The dragon finally breaks apart in a burst of purple light. "Oh, got him, got him, got him!" a voice yells. Counting afterward, a voice says the healing towers all survived except two. Cobblestone goes up in steps around the bedrock pillar in the middle of the island, and the whole group crowds onto it for a picture.
After the pictures, chat shows Scoti_Garbidis leaving and rejoining, and talk turns to a snowball fight. The episode ends with Basket on the end stone near the cobblestone mound, snow golems and players scattered around, and then the end card runs to the last frame.
