Basket takes out the Slug Cruiser Type B, unlocked in the last run, for the first time. The hangar names it the Stormwalker, on Normal, with a Healing Burst bomb, Artemis missiles, the Slug Repair Gel augment and no drones. The crew list shows three Slugs: Nekose, Tai Yi and Joel. "It has the healing bomb," Basket says, and the plan is to board enemy ships and heal the crew while they fight. The run is one video, and it ends in Sector 2 when a Pirate Disruptor tears the Stormwalker apart for a score of 475.
Boarding with a healing bomb
Sector 1 is a Civilian Sector. The first enemy is a Pirate Fighter with three crew, and the teleporter only carries two. Basket aims the missiles at the weapons and sends two Slugs into a small room, which "will allow us to kind of choose who we fight." The healing bomb takes a moment to go off: "it does take a second to happen, okay, have to keep that in mind." The Stormwalker has no Medbay or Clone Bay, so the bomb is the only way to heal. Next Basket chooses to defend an outpost and boards a Rebel Fighter there. Basket wins, but Tai Yi is gone from the crew list. "I should have been healing up my guys at the end. I didn't really think about it."
A bribe that does not work
At a Rebel checkpoint, Basket pays 13 scrap to bribe the Rebels into releasing the civilian ships. A Rebel Invader attacks anyway. "This is a tough ship." Basket forgets to repair the shields first but still wins. An Auto-Assault guarding a storage cache gets skipped, and after a Pirate Scout fight a new crew member, Caris, comes aboard.
Down to one Slug
A Mantis Scout waits in a nebula. A fire breaks out mid-fight. "What happened to my healing bomb?" Basket wins, but the crew list drops to Nekose alone. "I'm tempted to quit but maybe I'll keep on playing it until I actually die," Basket says, adding that this ship has to reach Sector 8 to unlock the next one.
Sector 2 is an Uncharted Nebula, and it opens with a store. Basket buys Drone Control for 75 scrap, which comes with a free System Repair Drone, and hires Junpeng, a Human, for 45.
How it ended
The next fight is a Pirate Disruptor with a defense drone and a Clone Bay. "We can't kill these guys fast enough for their cloning bay. We can't get a missile past this guy." The warnings read shields critical and hull critical, and the Stormwalker breaks apart. The game-over screen reads "One last explosion marks your fate as your ship is torn apart," with a score of 475. The video goes to the ship list and hangar before its end cards.
