This stream does not start a new game. It picks up the Stealth Cruiser B game from the August 5 stream, still at the Sector 2 exit with the ship intact and the same crew list: Ariel, Bovee, Fish, Hassifa and one more crew member. The commentary is not sure at first whether this is the B or the C layout, but the goal is clear: "my objective is to try and get to sector 8 with this guy." The ship starts with only the Glaive Beam and no shields. Four sectors later the stream stops at the Sector 6 exit, ship intact.
Sector 3: Engi space on one gun
The choice from last time goes to the Engi. "I'm gonna go with Engie and hope that they don't have too many drones." The first fight is against just that: an Auto-Assault with two drones, one of them starting fires. The weapons room burns, the doors go down, and the crew put out the fires and patch everything up before the next jump. "That was a rough battle." The store money goes to fuel and repairs.
From there the plan holds: pause, wait for the enemy to fire, cloak, and let the Glaive Beam cut through several rooms at once. A ship with mind control surrenders and adds a second weapon. A poorly equipped Engi vessel asks for help, and the answer is to give them nothing. At a station orbiting a planet, the advanced cloak lets the ship disable a malfunctioning system, and the reward is a pile of scrap.
Sector 4: Lanius and a pulsar
Sector 4 is an Abandoned Sector. The commentary expects Lanius ships and spends scrap on Oxygen and Medbay upgrades first. A Federation encrypted signal turns out to be a trap. Then a civilian ship begs for help against "the metal monsters," a lone Lanius craft. The cruiser attacks. Halfway through, the commentary switches the beam onto the enemy weapons, and the Lanius ship goes down.
A ship with crew teleporting and a Glaive Beam of its own is the scariest fight so far. "I'm in trouble guys." It surrenders with its big gun still working, and Basket accepts. At the next store the ship finally buys a Shields system and sells its backup weapon. Another ship fires a Pike Beam, and with the new shields back online the cruiser wins that one too.
The way to the exit runs through a pulsar. Its ion pulses knock out the oxygen and the shields, but the Glaive Beam fires in time and a Lanius Scout is destroyed.
The last fight of the sector is against a Rebel ship with drones and hacking, and it hacks the weapons. The cruiser jumps away. "We survived that fight by running away." The next store sells Hacking for 80 scrap, and Basket buys it, with the idea of hacking an enemy's shields right before the Glaive Beam fires.
Sector 5: the Uncharted Nebula
Sector 5 is an Uncharted Nebula. The first enemy has its own cloaking, and the timing gets complicated. "Lots of planning." An advanced Rebel automated ship guarding a station comes next. The commentary picks the fight over sneaking in, wins, and the station turns out to be empty, so the 50 scrap from the ship is the whole reward.
The hardest fight of the stream is an Auto-Scout with stealth, one laser and a very large missile. A fire knocks out the Hacking room, the hull drops low, and the ship barely makes it. "I survived it but not by much." Most of the scrap goes into repairs at the next store. A ship with mind control, Zoltan shields and big weapons is simply left alone.
Sector 6: a new crew member
Sector 6 is a Civilian Sector. A ship with drones charges its FTL drive, but a hack on its shields and a well-aimed beam win the fight. Dolan joins the crew after that fight, and the commentary notes Dolan is better at piloting than the current pilot. A ship demanding a toll gets paid. A refugee ship turns out to be a trap: an armed ship with a big missile beams boarders into the cruiser. The crew swap rooms to hold them off, and hacking plus the Glaive Beam win it, with a pile of goodies after.
How it ended
At the exit beacon, with 102 scrap, six crew and still just the Glaive Beam, the commentary looks at the map: "I won't be able to finish it this episode, this stream." The crew list now reads Ariel, Bovee, Fish, Hassifa, Dolan and one more crew member. The video stops at the Sector 6 exit with the ship intact, two sectors short of the Sector 8 goal.
