Basket takes The Adjudicator out again with one goal: "get to sector 5 without upgrading our stuff." The ship has its Halberd Beam, a Leto missile launcher, the Zoltan Shield and three Zoltan crew, Walker, Liu Jun and Filip. If this one fails too, Basket says, it's time to switch ships. The run lasts one video and ends early in Sector 3, where an Energy Fighter destroys The Adjudicator for a score of 868.
A rough Sector 1
The first fight is a Pirate Invader parked next to a sun, and fires break out on board. "Hopefully the fire isn't too bad." An Auto-Hacker follows; Basket tries to knock out its systems first, but "he got the hack in." A Pirate Outrider hits hard enough that Basket admits, "I gotta stop doing stupid stuff."
At one beacon a mercenary offers to slow the Rebel fleet, and Basket pays: "Let's delay the bad guys, so we can do some more stuff in the area." The store has Swarm Missiles, but the scrap goes on a Scrap Recovery Arm, "hopefully that pays off." A station under construction asks the crew to look for a missing cargo ship.
The Rebel Controlled Sector
Basket skips the Rock Controlled option for Sector 2, the Rebel Controlled Sector. The cargo ship turns up and jettisons some scrap. A Rebel Fighter goes down, then two Auto-Assault ships in a nebula. "This beam is pretty awesome."
The Federation signal
A Federation encrypted signal comes from a nearby planet, and Basket sends an away party. It is a trap. A Rebel Invader attacks with boarders already aboard, and the oxygen system goes down. Basket turns down a surrender offer ("maybe I should have accepted that"), wins the fight, but Filip is gone from the crew list afterward. "I might just quit this one because I don't have enough juice now to do my mission."
How it ended
Basket keeps going anyway. An engineer offers to improve the reactor in exchange for supplies, and Basket declines. Basket pays a trader to free one of its captives, Swamps, who joins the crew, and the stations get shuffled. At the sector map Basket picks the Zoltan Controlled Sector over the Uncharted Nebula for Sector 3, and decides to finish the run in this one video: "I feel like I won't last very long."
The first fight there is an Energy Fighter. Boarders come over, the oxygen goes down again, and the warnings read shields critical and hull critical. The Adjudicator breaks apart, and the game-over screen reads "One last explosion marks your fate as your ship is torn apart," with a score of 868. "It's so tough," Basket says, adding, "I did it before on easy." The video moves to the hangar before its end cards.
