Episode 6 ended with a brass panel of slats fitted into a rock wall beside a locked door, a blue winding line across it and no answer. This whole video is that panel. Basket tries it again, walks every building in town looking for a missing piece, and finally asks for a hint. It ends with the periscope showing a set of glowing symbols, and the panel still not shown solved.
Three ideas that don't work
The video opens at the panel. The commentary sums up the two torches in the inventory: one can "power things up sometimes," the other "produces a light where you can see invisible writing." Three ideas get tried on the slats: click along the blue line, click one stretch of it twice, and click the points where it turns. "No dice." Beside it, the round lock in the door has its five-sided hole, and the cursor changes over it, "which tells me that I potentially might stick something inside of that."
The orange torch goes into the holder on a rock, which "makes some sort of noise." Back at the panel, the same three tries fail again.
Checking the whole town
"Let's systematically go through this." Basket goes building by building. Behind bars in one of them sit stone blocks marked with glowing symbols: "I have not seen those symbols elsewhere." The commentary notes the percent-like mark to come back to.
The tour passes the combination lock opened before, the basement where the lens and the bowl came from, the well, a stone post with gear slots that won't turn ("oh, there are gears, I lied"), the broken bridge still out of reach, and the room with the periscope. Nothing new turns up. "So there goes that idea."
Writing on the wall
With the orange torch back on the periscope and the periscope aimed at a building, the walls inside light up with columns of symbols under groups of short bars. The commentary explains that it "focuses the light onto these crystals that then illuminate the secret writing on the walls." A viewer wonders whether the bars at the top are a hint. Nothing comes of it yet.
Asking for a hint
After about 20 minutes on it today and "another 20 minutes the other day," the commentary says, "I'm close to having to look it up. I don't like to do that ever." A viewer looks it up. The hints read out on the recording say it is "an object you haven't found," and then that "it has to do something with the periscope." Back at the periscope, a viewer suggests trying the blue torch on it.
Where it ends
The blue torch goes on the periscope, and the view sweeps across rocks lit blue until a bright flash. Then glowing symbols show in the eyepiece: a box drawn with bars, and two pairs of smaller symbols under it. "These relate to the symbols on that one thing." The commentary reads them off and says, "okay I got it." The video holds on the symbols and fades to the end card. The panel is not shown being entered and the door is still closed.
