This stream of Quern starts on the mountaintop where Episode 22's teleport ended. A game update now adds sparkles to anything that can be used. Basket powers a door buried in vines, brews a potion for it, and then spends most of the hour looking for what comes next. The video ends in a room on the roof of the brewing area, reached by a green beam.
Sparkles and a door in vines
"Okay, so we are up here on the mountaintop." The settings menu has new options, and the commentary turns on interaction helpers: "it adds little sparklies if I can interact with stuff." Nearby is a rusty metal door covered in thick dry vines, with a small pot at their roots. "Here it looks like I can pour water into this plant, and this thing I can't open."
From the mountaintop, a target on the cliff can be signaled up close, and it opens: "let's try and signal this guy... yes okay good."
Another symbol
Back at the tower with the light machine, the open target shows the symbol it wants, and the commentary works it out in pieces: "this needs to be full, this needs to be just a half." It gets drawn on paper to save running back and forth. Lens by lens, each one is turned until it fits inside the shape, and the beam fires. "Ta-da! I'm so good at the game."
Following the power lines leads to the vine-covered door. "This thing is powered, but it's closed. It's locked up... So I do need to make some sort of potion or something I'm going to pour in there."
A potion for the vines
At the brewing area, a recipe scroll lists the ingredients, and the commentary finds a key to write it into the notebook. The choice falls on the potion for plants, since there are few options: "orange, red, red," then "purple, blue." Colored smoke rises from the bench.
At the door, the potion goes into the pot. "This is the right thing, pour it in. Great. Interesting. Okay, so now I need to pour something else in there." The vines stay where they are.
An hour stuck
Back at the tower, the commentary tries the last target again to be sure. Every lens gets turned, and the shape is almost there, "except there needs to be a line there on the bottom." No lens gives one.
What follows is the longest stretch: the blue torch around old areas, the letters, a book about gateways that are "always arranged at the vertices of a regular polygon," the teleport posts, the lighthouse. A viewer confirms that another potion is needed but has not been found yet. Another viewer points out that Basket is carrying the green transporter crystal. The crystal, on its base, gets tried in torch holders and on a pedestal, with no luck. After an in-game hint, the commentary reads it this way: "So it's not where I can put a torch. It's something I can set this on."
After a look at the map, the commentary finds drawings it is sure were "not here before" and reads them as a hint for an earlier puzzle that is already solved. A viewer then hints that something else already went in the same place before.
Up through the fire
"I have this shape... I've seen something like that before. I have an idea. It's probably wrong." The crystal on its base goes down beside the cauldron at the brewing area, and a green beam shoots straight up through the ceiling and carries Basket with it. "I'm glad I wasted an hour."
Where it ends
"Welcome everybody to the roof of this building." Up there are baskets, cards of plants on the wall, and a letter: "I prepared everything to slow you down, to force you to understand everything I once understood." It goes on: "The success or failure of your quest will profoundly affect the whole world."
A table holds glowing blue and red flasks and a new recipe scroll. "It makes opposite potions," the commentary says. "So this is how I turn a plant into a dead plant." The video ends on an open book of ruled tables with "stream's over," the vine door still shut and the last light target still missing its bottom line.
