This stream starts a fresh game in the Crystal Cruiser, the ship unlocked at the end of the Rock Cruiser run. The hangar names it the Bravais, layout A, on Normal. The crew list shows Xin Xin, Bovee, Artyom and Markus, the ship carries a Crystal B. I and a Crystal H. I, and its one augmentation is Crystal Vengeance. The commentary sets the goal as the achievements that unlock the B layout. The run gets two of them, unlocks Crystal Cruiser Type B, and ends with the ship torn apart in Sector 4 for a score of 1150.
A full crew in the Civilian Sector
Sector 1 is a Civilian Sector. Docking at a burning research station brings in some scrap and some damage. A fight with a hostile ship earns a Flak I, and a settlement asks for help against a Mantis war camp a few jumps away. When the Bravais gets there, the event text says there are far too many Mantis to attack, so it leaves. On the way, a heavily damaged Federation ship gives up a crew member, Alison, and searching some wreckage turns up Maloney and supplies.
At the store Basket buys Drone Control, and a Combat I drone joins the drone bar. The next beacon sits next to a sun, with an Auto-Hacker waiting and a DANGER! warning on screen. The fight beats up the oxygen system, and the crew patch it before the jump. A pirate attacking another ship tries to charge its FTL and run, and the Bravais destroys it first.
Engi space and Sweet Revenge
Sector 2 is an Engi Controlled Sector. Saving a civilian ship brings a new crew member, Lombard. At the store Basket sells the Flak I for a Scrap Recovery Arm, then turns down a toll ship's demand and accepts its surrender for fuel and drone parts.
Then comes the long fight. A Mantis Fighter is chasing a civilian ship. Basket beats down its systems until only one laser is left, then stops shooting. The idea, in the commentary: "There's a 10% chance that when they hit me I will shoot a shard back." The shields go off, the Mantis keeps firing, and the Bravais takes hit after hit. "Come on, just hit him with a shard." Eventually one does. The popup reads "Achievement Unlocked! Sweet Revenge" and the Mantis Fighter is gone. Later, on a planet of small six-legged, horse-like animals, Basket tries to bring some aboard to sell. They turn violent, and Markus is gone from the crew list.
Mantis Homeworlds and No Escape
Sector 3 is the Mantis Homeworlds. After a fight against a ship with a teleporting bomb, the store has a Chain Vulcan. Basket sells the Combat drone and later the Crystal B. I to pay for it and for repairs. Downloading a Rebel scout's data fills in the map. Two Mantis ships send boarders over, and Basket vents rooms to fight them off.
The second achievement needs four enemies in one room. When four intruders board, the crew draw them into a single room and Lockdown seals it. "Achievement Unlocked! No Escape" pops up, then "Layout Unlocked! Crystal Cruiser Type B." The trap costs a lot. By the time the boarders are gone, Artyom, Alison and Lombard are off the crew list, leaving Xin Xin, Bovee and Maloney. "I kind of screwed this up, but I really want to get that achievement."
How it ended
The three remaining crew limp on with the hull critical. One more boarding ship gets away, a ship with no shields is wrecked, and they reach Sector 4, a Zoltan Controlled Sector. A distress call pays enough scrap for a second shield. Then a Zoltan research facility asks the crew to take part in a study, and Basket agrees. Intruders appear on board and a Pirate Light-Cruiser with three shields attacks. The Bravais breaks apart, and the game over screen reads "One last explosion marks your fate as your ship is torn apart." with a score of 1150.
In the hangar the commentary shows off the new Crystal Cruiser Type B, the Carnelian: it "starts out with no weapons, it has cloaking and it has crew teleporting." That is the ship for next time.
